Wild Man!

Grey is a wild little guy!!!! He has been going and going this past week. We even have a new injury to report. Grey smashed his face into our headboard last weekend.

This picture was taken right after it happened. It became bruised and swollen as the days progressed. Still not sure if he broke it or not. He really did not act like it bothered him much so that is the good news.

Grey has learned how to get himself on and off his little car. He can even move himself around while sitting on it.

We have had a busy weekend. Matt and I left Grey with a babysitter on Friday night and attended the fifth year residents' graduation. There was a dinner and a few presentations. After the dinner there was a fun scavenger hunt all around the city. The residents had to do all sorts of crazy stuff. One thing they had to do was go to an attending's house and make a "rock video". These are bad photos, but this is how one of Matt's attendings made him up.

Matt had to finish the scavenger hunt with the black star on his face. I made him stay in the kitchen while I paid the babysitter so she wouldn't be scared :).

On Saturday Matt had a golf tournament and then we attended a BBQ. We get to the BBQ and there is a small patio, a big backyard, and right near the patio is a beautiful pool. Well....Grey stayed in Matt's arms for about 30 seconds after we arrived and then he HAD to get down. As you can imagine he went straight for the pool. Matt and I then spent the next two and a half hours taking turns following him around the backyard and keeping him from the pool. Everyone else was distracting their children with food or other children so they could stand around and talk....not ours! He would not eat, drink, or do anything except explore. We tempted him with apple juice, chicken nuggets, cookies, and his lovey. NOTHING WORKED!!!!

So Matt took a ton of cute pictures while he was isolated from the party with the baby. Notice how red and sweaty he was from running all around.

I am exhausted just remembering the chasing him around!!!!

Busy Bee

We have been really busy this week.

Monday we headed to the zoo. It was HOT HOT HOT!!!!! We spent a lot of time in the otter house (it has air conditioning).

He sure looks like a big boy in this picture!

On Tuesday we just played at home.

Wednesday we went to the Children's museum. It just opened and Grey had a lot of fun!

CRAZY BABY FACE!!!!!!!!!!

On Thursday we went to our usual story time (no photos).

On Friday we had a little splash date.

Partners in crime....

What a busy guy!! Maybe we will relax a little this weekend :)

On a different note: I went to a little painting class with some of the ENT wives. It was fun. But you actually have to have some painting talent. Don't look tooooooo close at my birds.

365 down 1,460 to go.....not that I am counting

HAPPY 1st ANNIVERSARY TO US!!!! We have officially been in Mississippi for an entire year. June 11th was our closing date and move in day. I can't believe it! Yet, when I look back at pictures it seems like it was ages ago. You can look at pictures and read about the move HERE. Baby Grey was so tiny. :)

We celebrated by going to the science museum. Grey and I have been a few times, but Matt has never been able to go. We recently bought memberships so we headed out.

Grey loves animals, but for some reason he is very scared of stuffed animals.

I don't know if you can tell from this photo, but right before the museum Grey busted his lip. It was bad. Lots of blood and crying.....the crying was from his mother. He hit the bathroom floor so hard that I was sure there were no teeth left. It got really swollen.

We had a great time!

An exciting time from this week: Grey was having a pool play date and he really needed to take a nap so that he would have energy to swim. I knew he wasn't asleep because I could hear him playing. He played for almost an hour in his bed. I then heard a very upset cry. I turned on the video monitor and wondered what he was so upset about. He was standing up, looking over the crib rail, and crying desperately. I decided he had been in there long enough so I went in.

I found this....

A kid who was not wearing pants or a diaper.

He was so distressed because he had thrown everything out of his bed, including his pants and his diaper. I laughed and took a picture. I then started to pick up things and put them back in his bed. Some of his things were very wet. There is a reason why babies must wear diapers........

Splashers!!!!!!!

This week Grey had a little splash party in our backyard. We used the water table and the baby pool and had a wonderful time.

On Saturday Grey wanted to be like dad. He wanted to wear his A&M hat. He is big enough now to wear it. :)

On Sunday Grey got a little grumpy, so Matt got him out of his clothes and let him dig through his toy bucket.....worked like a charm.

After he dug through his toys he stole Matt's keys. He went straight to the door and started trying to put the key in the lock to open the door. He even switched keys to see if that would help him open the door. Babies are AMAZING when it comes to what they pick up. I have never even thought about him watching me open the door with a key....but apparently he is watching!

Grey might get his first black eye. He fell the other morning and hit his face on the bottom of a chair. It is starting to become less red and more dark colored. I am sure this is the first of a few to come.
