Ice Cream Safari

Alison and Gary came to visit us this weekend. We had lots of fun!

They came in on Thursday night. We just hung out and watched a little Yo Gabba Gabba. On Friday Matt still had to work so I took Gary and Alison to the "fancy" shopping center here in Jackson. They played in the fountains with Grey.














We did a little shopping and we hit the bookstore. They were VERY brave and encouraged me to let Grey out of the stroller in the bookstore. Gary even showed Grey how to play at a train table.

We then went to have a little burger for lunch, came home and napped the baby. Then we went to get some coffee and go to the pet store. Grey (and Alison) love dogs and all things pet store. Matt came home from work and we ate dinner.



On Saturday the big boys went to play golf. Alison, Grey, and myself decided to go to the zoo. Alison had heard so much about it that she wanted to experience the greatness for herself :) We got to the zoo and they told us for $2.00 we could get into the ice cream safari. We said we would think about it. We walked around and saw some animals and came back to see what it was all about. The ice cream safari was basically a charity event hosted by Blue Bell. They had "celebrity" scoopers and you voted on your favorite ice cream flavor or scooper. But you could taste every booths ice cream and go back as many times as you wanted. When we heard unlimited Blue Bell, we were in!!!










I think we might have spent more time at the booths then actually looking at animals.

I thought that the ice cream party couldn't get any better. Then we turned the corner and I saw Megan West and Ethan Houston! Who you say?? They are the morning anchors on channel 8. I watch them every morning!!! Alison and I got to meet them as they were giving us their Mississippi Mud Pie ice cream. They were really nice (and much more attractive in person). Especially when Alison told them that Grey watches them too. I voted for them.....but they didn't win.



So much fun!

Saturday afternoon we all came back home to eat lunch. The baby napped a bit and then ALL the boys went to a golf store while Alison and I did a little shopping! we ate dinner and just hung out.



This morning we had to say goodbye. But not without one last picture....

Fun Weekend!!

We had a great weekend. Grey's Granddaddy came to visit him! Grey was very excited to see him, and he was very excited that Doc came along.











Granddaddy thought that Grey might need a sprinkler to play in.....I think he was right!!















We had a great time! And the good news is that Rick will be coming back in just a few weeks with Lily!

Grey went to the dr. this week for his 15 month appointment. He remembers the dr. He didn't really want to play toys in the waiting room. Then the second he saw the scale he flipped out. He did not stop crying until he was in his car seat going home. :(

Summer Loving

We are having a wonderful summer!! MANY more fun outdoor activities than last year.

This week we met some friends at a shopping center and played in the fountains. Then we went to lunch. Grey liked the fountains, but he was sure interested in the freedom he was given and tried to test all the boundaries. He is normally shy and clingy. Put him outside and give him a tiny bit of freedom, and he acts like he has never met a stranger!






We also spent a lot of time in the backyard this week.



Grey loves to brush his teeth. A lot of times he cries when I tell him we are finished. On this day he begged and begged for his tooth brush. So I gave in. I told him if he wanted to brush his own teeth then he needed to sit down. He went and grabbed himself a pillow :)





We also went to a splash pad this week. The kids had lots of fun. I think Grey might have liked the fountains more though.













Yesterday when Matt came home Grey was in a super playful mood. He wanted to have Matt chase him and hide.















Last weekend Matt let Grey "drive" the truck while I ran into the store.





And finally....I always write about how sassy Grey is. I feel like this photo captures the sass. It even looks like his hand is on his hip!
