The Great Texas Turkey Trot

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We were able to see lots of family and friends. We did not get to spend a ton of time with anyone, but we made the rounds and visited a lot.

Baby Grey was great in the car. There were no true melt downs on either end of the trip.

He was not so good with the visiting though. He is just a very sensitive little guy. We were constantly introducing new people and places to him. He basically cried whenever we went anywhere or saw anyone. :) BUT people still liked him.

In case you weren't one of the lucky ones to see this in person. These pictures pretty much sum up what Grey was like 85% of the time in Dallas.

We had Thanksgiving lunch with my family and then went over to Matt's mom's house for dinner and the evening.

This was just a great picture that I HAD to post. Pam got a new cat and Matt was trying to make friends with it. They were working so hard :)

On Friday we did a little black Friday shopping. It was actually painless and we had a great time. That afternoon we went up to Frisco to visit with Gary and Alison.

Baby Grey was very unsure about his birthday buddy Gary. Gary kept trying to make eye contact.....big mistake. Alison caught on quickly and avoided all eye contact. She sat NEAR him but ignored him. Soon enough they were friends.

Grey was also introduced to Gary and Alison's great dane. I thought he would be scared. NOPE! Friendly, loving people terrify him, but giant horse-like dogs.....no biggy! He instantly reached out and wanted to touch him.

Alison gave Grey a toothbrush. I was excited that now I do not have to use the finger brush anymore. I was a little worried I might lose the tip of my finger one of those times.

He really liked playing with it. He is ready to brush! (Let's not tell him that it is the wrong way)

Gary was trying to look at him again.

Do you like how I am blaming my sons behavior on Gary :)

Matt stayed with Gary and Alison and had a little sleep over. Baby and I went back home to eat dinner and go to sleep.

Saturday we woke up and just played toys for a while.

I am including this one because Pop is playing with Grey's toy and Grey is not even paying attention :)

Saturday afternoon we went to Matt's aunt and uncle's house. Nannie came with us and Matt's cousins and their kids were there as well.

It was so funny. Grey was scared of all the adults but he was really excited to see the kids. He went straight for them. He let them touch him and look at him and everything. The kids all sat around and stared at baby Grey for a long time. It was very sweet.

He even got to play the piano. He REALLY thought that was fun.

Sunday we went to see Poppy and Mickey again and Matt's mom. We just got in some quick good-byes and then we were on the road again.

Back to our everyday life!

This morning Grey went into the diaper bag and somehow came out with his snacks. Sneaky little guy.

Turkey Tuesday??

Well we are ready for TURKEY DAY! Grey is really excited. I mean I am really excited and he has no idea what to expect. Holidays are coming....

Our week in pictures.

Playing

Grey busted his lip this week. Doing this....

He split it open a little bit and it bled. This was his first real boo boo. I think mom was a little more stressed about it than he was. He was a trooper. And I swear I was sitting right next to him when it happened. That almost made it worse. This is the picture we took of Grey telling dad about his lip.

Then he thought Matt was playing some sort of game with him and smooshed his face into Matt's.

Just relaxing!

Because Grey has started to pull up some we decided it was time to drop the crib.

Grey thought this was greatness because he got to play with his mattress on the floor.

Having a little snack.

Which brings us to today. Our friend Emily called this morning and their nanny could not come to work at the last minute. So I told her I would watch Ollie. There were some really fun times and some really rough times (shout out to anyone with twins!!!!). There was one big problem. When one baby cried it would scare/distress the other one. Then there are two babies crying and you are trying to comfort one and then when they stop the other one keeps going. It was a vicious cycle! But the boys for the most part had fun. ;)

Oh yes, Grey was also incredibly jealous of me holding Ollie. So this was how a great deal of my day went.....Ollie playing contently by himself and Grey trying desperately to crawl into my lap and look at Ollie!

I don't want to get overly sappy here. But I have a LOT to be thankful for this year. Health, cranberries, happiness, pilgrims, family, friends, BABY GREY, pretty much everything in my life I am thankful for this Thanksgiving.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving!!!!
